OTP Authentication – Enhanced Security EuRREB

To secure your account, the Core Registry requires two-factor authentication (2FA). You can choose between two methods:

  • Authenticator App (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, FreeOTP)
  • Email Verification

How 2FA Works

  1. Enter your username and password on the login screen.
  2. You will then be directed to the 2FA method selection screen, where you can choose:
    • Use Device Code – Use a 6-digit code from an authenticator app.
    • Send Code via Email – Receive a 6-digit code via email.

Option 1: Use Device Code (Authenticator App)

  1. Click the Use Device Code button.
  2. You will be taken to a screen where you can enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
  3. If you have not yet set up 2FA or need to reset it, click the Send Verification Email link on this screen:
  • Open the email and click the one-time setup link.
  • On the 2FA setup screen, scan the QR code using your authenticator app.
  • If you’re unable to scan the QR code, use the Manual Entry Key to configure the app manually.
  • The app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code on the setup screen to complete the process.

Option 2: Send Code via Email

  1. Click the Send Code via Email button.
  2. A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your registered email address.
  3. You will be redirected to a screen where you can enter this code to complete the login.

Important Notes

  • If you’re using an authenticator app, the QR code only needs to be scanned once during setup.
  • For future logins, you can choose either Authenticator App or Email Verification.
