OTP Authentication – Enhanced Security EuRREB
To secure your account, the Core Registry requires two-factor authentication (2FA). You can choose between two methods:
- Authenticator App (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, FreeOTP)
- Email Verification
How 2FA Works
- Enter your username and password on the login screen.
- You will then be directed to the 2FA method selection screen, where you can choose:
- Use Device Code – Use a 6-digit code from an authenticator app.
- Send Code via Email – Receive a 6-digit code via email.
Option 1: Use Device Code (Authenticator App)
- Click the Use Device Code button.
- You will be taken to a screen where you can enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
- If you have not yet set up 2FA or need to reset it, click the Send Verification Email link on this screen:
- Open the email and click the one-time setup link.
- On the 2FA setup screen, scan the QR code using your authenticator app.
- If you’re unable to scan the QR code, use the Manual Entry Key to configure the app manually.
- The app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code on the setup screen to complete the process.
Option 2: Send Code via Email
- Click the Send Code via Email button.
- A 6-digit verification code will be sent to your registered email address.
- You will be redirected to a screen where you can enter this code to complete the login.
Important Notes
- If you’re using an authenticator app, the QR code only needs to be scanned once during setup.
- For future logins, you can choose either Authenticator App or Email Verification.
