*The explanation below contains details about the creation and use of Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs). If you have any questions on this explanation or want to know what your results mean, please contact your clinician.

OHIP-14 Tool

The OHIP-14 is a short questionnaire that helps measure how much trouble or discomfort people have because of problems with their teeth, gums, or mouth. It asks about how these problems affect daily life.

The OHIP-14 score can go from 0 to 56. To get your score, you add up the numbers from all 14 questions. A higher score means your mouth problems are worse, and a lower score means your mouth health is better.

This tool is often used for people with rare conditions like hypophosphatemia, which can affect their teeth and mouth. Both doctors and patients can fill it out to understand how these issues are affecting someone’s life.

You can read more about this tool here Derivation and validation of a short-form oral health impact profile – PubMed (nih.gov)

If you don’t know what your results mean – please, contact your doctor for help.
