We are excited to highlight two new EuRREB studies focusing on Hypoparathyroidism, contributing to a better understanding of this rare endocrine disease and its long-term impact on patients.

Natural History of Hypoparathyroidism

Led by Dr. Femke van Haalen this study aims to investigate the natural history of Hypoparathyroidism in a large, multinational real-world cohort. The study will examine disease progression, complications, treatment strategies and factors associated with outcomes such as nephrocalcinosis, chronic kidney disease and quality of life. The goal is to collect data from 1,000 adult patients with Hypoparathyroidism.

HypoCaVD-Hypoparathyroidism & Cardiovascular Disease

Led by Dr. Maria Yavropoulou, this study focuses on cardiovascular morbidity and outcomes in people living with Hypoparathyroidism. It will investigate cardiovascular events including ischaemic heart disease, myocardial infarction, stroke/TIA, heart failure and clinically significant arrhythmias, as well as potential associations with calcium, phosphate, treatment and renal function.

Together, these studies demonstrate how the EuRREB Core Registry can support multinational research into both the long-term course of Hypoparathyroidism and its broader health outcomes.
